Two Men Face Charges Regarding Heathrow Alleged Pepper Spray Incident
Formal charges have been brought against two men following a suitcase robbery where a suspected capsaicin spray caused injuries at the major London air hub.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two counts of robbery and charges for administering a noxious substance, authorities have stated.
This legal action stems from an investigation into an assault at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Before the assault occurred, two women were robbed of their luggage stolen after getting out of a parking garage elevator, according to law enforcement.
A toddler was among those injured in the event. Five people were taken to a medical facility and were eventually allowed to go home.
The incident – described by police as was isolated and deemed non-terroristic – resulted in disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
