Top-ranked Sabalenka Secures Back-to-Back WTA Player of the Year Accolades.

The tennis star celebrating a point
The Belarusian player concluded the tour with an outstanding twenty-three to three Grand Slam match record.

World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been chosen the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second straight year.

The 27-year-old secured four titles – the highest tally on the circuit – including successfully defending the US Open this past September against Amanda Anisimova to claim her fourth Grand Slam singles title.

A Season of Dominance

Across the season, Sabalenka competed in a tour-best nine finals, with losses coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in the French Open final.

The Belarusian also claimed victory at the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open in May. She spent the entire year as the top-ranked player, finishing 2025 on top of the rankings for a second successive year.

This past summer, she achieved the status of being the first player to top 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams did so nearly a decade ago.

Record-Breaking Numbers

Sabalenka ended the competitive year with a 63-12 win-loss record, and earned a historic £11m in tournament winnings.

She garnered nearly 80% of the votes cast by international tennis media.

Later this month, she is poised to compete against 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match in a bid to "elevate women's tennis to a greater prominence".
