Skydance Paramount Set to Remove Around 2,000 United States Roles – News

Skydance Paramount plans to initiate mass layoffs beginning on 27 October, eliminating nearly 2,000 American roles within a expense reduction strategy totaling $2bn overseen by top executive David Ellison.

The layoffs are a result of the union between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized this past August worth $8.4bn.

Additional overseas workforce reductions are likely, with Paramount Skydance intending to reveal all specifics in its third-quarter financial update set for the 10th of November.

Earlier reports suggested that Paramount planned to reduce from 2,000 to 3,000 positions before the start of November.

Until December 2024, the company retained about 18,600 full- and part-time employees and 3,500 project-based staff.

Paramount Skydance has not provided a response to a request for comment.
