David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.

The comedian

Acclaimed writer for children and comedian David Walliams is no longer with his publisher HarperCollins UK, according to an announcement.

A spokesman for the company said: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the conclusion was reached following an investigation into claims about conduct deemed unsuitable towards women.

The firm has not elaborated on the motivations for this action, adding: "It is not our policy to discuss private personnel issues."

A Prolific Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, boasting over over six tens of millions of copies worldwide in five dozen languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins in 2008.

Several of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.

He has published in excess of 40 works combined, which features a holiday title titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.

Television and Literature

He first rose to fame on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE in 2017 in recognition of his work for philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
