Barcelona Set to Play Inaugural Match at Renovated Camp Nou on Saturday

Barcelona have announced their first game will take place at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou over the weekend. They will welcome the Bilbao team in the Spanish league over two years since relocating for construction to commence.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited though over 45,000 attendees are permitted inside under the licence granted. Once fully finished, the Camp Nou is due to hold over 104,000 attendees, a rise from the old capacity. The club said finished work included a new players’ tunnel and new dressing rooms.

Stadium Testing

Barça organized a fan-accessible workout inside the stadium on 7 November. Officials stated approval is being pursued by UEFA for their upcoming Champions League fixture facing Eintracht next month in the renovated venue. Previous fixtures took place at the Olympic Stadium.
