Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Fatal Road Accident

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been released from care, local government spokespeople confirmed on Wednesday evening. The athlete was involved in a car accident outside Lagos on the 29th of December, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his team members.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The boxer had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team had said on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.

“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being made ready for the journey back,” Omotosho said.

Honoring the Deceased

Those who lost their lives were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the athlete was heartbroken and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”

The news of his discharge follows the sports world had expressed condolences for the star in the wake of the terrible crash.
